We are very grateful to report that the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation (PAHF) has again provided the VCDS with a very significant grant to transport White Rock and South Surrey cancer patients to their essential treatment appointments. Through their Healthy Community Grants program the PAHF has generously supported our patients annually since 2017. With this grant our drivers and dispatchers are able to ease the physical, emotional and financial burden for cancer patients and their families during one of the most challenging periods in a person’s life.
George McAffer, a board member and long- time volunteer driver says that “having assured transportation with an empathetic and caring driver during their debilitating treatment is a major comfort to patients while coping with this life-threatening disease.”
The VCDS is very fortunate to have the support of community minded organizations like the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.
