Laura Robinson

Volunteer Spotlight – Laura

The Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society has been incredibly lucky to have Laura as one of our amazing volunteers. Laura has such a fabulous attitude. She has this go-getter energy that’s hard to match. She has been very busy sewing over 200 masks for our drivers on top of filling in where ever needed as a relief dispatcher, matching drivers to patients in the New Westminster and Burnaby region.

Laura says…
“When I call patients to confirm that I have received their ride requests, they are so happy to hear from me, and they said that they are very grateful for us dispatchers and drivers. Volunteering for VCDS is a very fulfilling job, always looking forward to talking to all the patients and our dedicated drivers.”

Laura immigrated as a teenager with her family from the Philippines. She has worked around the world as a Senior Purchaser at leading shipping companies in Scotland, Germany, England, USA and here in Vancouver.

She enjoys playing golf, fishing, painting, baking, pasta making and cooking. Recently retired in Bowser, Vancouver Island with husband David.

Thank you Laura for the time volunteering with the VCDS.
