Langley Township Firefighter

Langley Township Firefighter

There is quite a compassionate story behind a $1,000 donation we have just received from the Township of Langley Firefighters It is made in memory of long time community worker and businesswoman Debbie Froese, who died of cancer on January 9th. Debbie was a key person in the family business, J.D. Turkey Farms. Her husband Jack Froese is the mayor of Langley Township. First Responders work hard to support local charities, making a difference in people’s lives above and beyond the call of duty. Firefighters and police officers formed an honour guard at her memorial service.  This is the second donation from Langley Township Firefighters.

Thank you for all you do for the community of Langley! This is what was said over their Facebook page.

Yesterday, we presented George, from Volunteer Cancer Drivers, with a cheque for $1000. George is one of the founders of the society which started 5 years ago when driving services in the area were no longer available. They help compensate the volunteers for the fuel they use to drive and 22% is donated back to the society from its own volunteers. Many drivers are out 5 days a week. We made this donation in honour of Debbie Froese
