North Vancouver District Firefighter Charity
Captain Scott Ferguson, North Vancouver District Firefighter Charitable Society presented George Garrett with a cheque for $2500 to help alleviate the costs of transporting cancer patients to treatment and follow up care.
This team of first responders have been longtime supporters of the Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society in ways that positively impact the lives of people in their communities living with cancer. A group of 130 volunteers and first responders, tirelessly work in the community raising funds and helping out at events. You have most likely seen them “shaking a boot”, swimming, cycling, running, washing cars to driving buses.
For that and all of your hard work, everyone at the VCDS thank you for your service and countless hours volunteering on the North Shore. It is with your generous gift that we can continue to Provide Access to Care-A ride for all cancer patients.
Their website says “All the funds we raise go directly to support local charities, initiatives, and causes”
We’re continuing our support of @VCDSociety with a $2500 donation. These folks provide free, safe and timely transport to and from appts for Cancer patients. They are restarting service on June 22 with a new comprehensive infection control policy to protect the driver and patient. pic.twitter.com/1XX3GMHhzF
